Wish he'd given me his recipe. My friend and retired butcher had a brine that he used with chicken. Apples, marischino cherries, soak chicken for 3 days.
I've never been a fan of brines. This stuff was so perfect, so mild.
WONDERFUL !!!
Wonder if he'd give it to me now?
Biggles
Apples and BBQ? What if you took thick apple rings, dipped them in a mixture of brown sugar, 7UP and salt, grilled them slightly then served them with pork or chicken?
I've never done this, but your question sent my brain whirling and this spat itself out.
What about a pork loin stuffed with apples? Whole apples in chicken? I put them in my turkey at Thanksgiving and it gives it a nice sweet taste.
